49th INTERNATIONAL RALLY
We are pleased to announce the 49th PHILPA International Rally which will be held between 23 - 26 September 2021 in the beautiful southern Greek peninsula of Peloponnese with its mountainous interior and deeply indented coasts.
The PHILPA International Rally has been organized for the past 48 years in the best areas in Greece. This year the rally will be held in one of the most interesting areas of Greece, the Peloponnese peninsula in southern Greece, connected to the central part of the country by the Isthmus (canal) of Corinth which separates the Gulf of Corinth from the Saronic Gulf. During the late Middle Ages and the Ottoman era, the peninsula was known as the Morea, a name still in colloquial use in its demotic form “Morias”.
The rally will start from Corinth and on the first day the participants will drive through landscapes of unparalleled beauty on selected routes of eastern Peloponnese which will lead them through quaint villages and the unique lake of Feneos, to the finish at ancient Olympia where the hotel is situated.
On the following two days the crews will enjoy driving around the Peloponnese exploring the breath-taking scenery of the many winding mountain roads and seaside villages finishing each day at the comfortable, luxurious Amalia Hotel in the village of Ancient Olympia where they will be able to enjoy a pool side drink and a tasty meal with local delicacies.
On Sunday, the last day of the event, the participants will be able to spend the morning exploring the treasures of the ancient monuments and the museum of Ancient Olympia. The gala, award giving lunch will follow at the Amalia Hotel after which the participants will be free to depart.
Eligible to participate are vehicles built between 1919 - 1991 with FIVA or FIA cards. Crews will have the option to compete in the “Super Trophy” or “Classic Trophy” Categories. The “Super Trophy” category is more competitive in terms of the number of regularity stages and target average speeds/times, whereas the “Classic Trophy” category will allow the Crews to enjoy the rally in a more “relaxed” pace (fewer timed stages) without missing on its competitive spirit. The rally route (about 533 klms in total with 40 timed stages) will be the same for both categories.
The entry fee of €630 includes 3 nights stay in the 4star hotel “Amalia” in Olympia, the award-giving gala lunch, rally insurance, road assistance & memorabilia.
