PHILPA INTERNATIONAL RALLY 2020
Due to the pandemic the International Rally is postponed for 2021. The new date and details will be published as soon as possible.
September 24 - 27/9/2020
We are pleased to announce our 49th International Rally which will be held on September 24 - 27/9/2020 mainly on the beautiful Ιonian island of Cephalonia . This is a 4-day regularity FIVA A΄ event (under the supervision of a FIVA Steward).
The rally will start from Patras (convenient for foreign participants arriving on the Italy-Greece ferries) and on the first day you will be driving through landscapes of unparallel natural beauty on the selected routes of western Peloponnese "wine roads" which will include a visit to Ancient Olympia. Late in the afternoon, crews will board a ferry at Kylini and will arrive after about one hour on the island of Cephalonia .
During the next three days the crews will enjoy driving on the island of Cephalonia exploring on the way the breath-taking scenery offered to them from the many quaint sea-side villages and beaches to the historic Ainos mountain national park (1.830 mtrs high). The rally will finish on Sunday noon and after the award-giving gala lunch, participants will board the ferry back to Kylini. Foreign participants will then drive back to Patras for boarding the ferries to Italy sailing late in the evening.
Eligible to participate are vehicles belonging to the FIVA C-H classes (1919-1990). Crews will have the option to compete in the “Super Trophy” or “Classic Trophy” Categories. The “Super Trophy” category is more competitive in terms of the number of regularity stages and target average speeds/times, whereas the “Classic Trophy” category will allow the Crews to enjoy the rally in a more “relaxed” pace (fewer stages, etc) without missing on its competitive spirit. The rally route (about 500 klms in total) will be the same for both categories.
The entry fee of € 2.150 will include return ferry tickets (car plus 2 crew in twin cabin) on the ferries Italy -Greece - Italy, return ferry tickets (car plus 2 crew) on the Kylini-Cephalonia ferry, 3 nights stay in a 4-star hotel in Cephalonia, award-giving gala lunch, rally insurance, road assistance & memorabilia. Optionally, for an additional fee of € 380, participants may either arrive 3 days before the start of the rally and enjoy a short holiday in a 4-star hotel on the Peloponnese or extend their stay in Cephalonia for 3 days and perhaps take a day trip to the island of Ithaka from where the mythical Odysseus set off for his adventures in Troy. In both cases the additional fee includes 3 overnight stays in a 4-star hotel. Remember that the average temperatures in Cephalonia in September are in the region of 27 degrees Centigrade and the sea-water temperatures of about 25 degrees Centigrade are inviting enough for the last swims of the year.
